Purpose
The purpose of this role is to develop and lead an efficient, safe, high-performing warehouse that supports the company’s distribution needs. People leadership is key — building a motivated, well-managed team that delivers consistently excellent service. You will ensure the warehouse runs smoothly and safely, meeting quality, productivity, and cost objectives.
The Warehouse Manager plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, supporting business growth, and delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities

- Take full responsibility for all people management in the warehouse, including onboarding, training, performance reviews.
- Ensure the team is motivated, well-trained, and appropriately staffed to support both day-to-day and peak operational requirements.
- Recommend, contribute to, and deliver warehouse objectives, strategic plans, and reviews.
- Prepare and execute action plans to enhance productivity, quality, and service standards while resolving issues and completing audits.
- Establish, enforce, and evaluate warehouse policies and procedures, including for receiving, inventory management, stock rotation, equipment utilisation, and dispatch.
- Optimise warehouse layout, stock control, product flow, and handling systems by analysing workflow, space, and equipment requirements.
- Proactively monitor operational performance using KPIs and implement corrective action plans for underperformance.
- Oversee warehouse financial objectives, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and variance analysis.
- Manage relationships with external logistics providers, develop and review logistics pricing, contracts, and SLAs.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) audits and regulatory inspections. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and proactively manage operational risk.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and legal requirements, including those related to transport, employment, customs, and environmental policies.
- Manage and optimise Warehouse Management Systems for inventory tracking, order fulfilment, and reporting accuracy.
- Continuously improve professional knowledge through training, networking, and industry awareness.
Skills and Experience Requirements
- Proven experience (ideally 5+ years) in warehouse management, ideally gained within a retail environment, with demonstrable success in improving processes, performance, and team capability.
- Strong people management skills, with a track record of building, leading, and developing effective teams.
- Experience using WMS/ERP systems to drive accuracy, efficiency, and reporting.
- Excellent change management skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the business.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
